Signs Your Energy Needs Cleansing (And What to Do About It) — Part 2

Signs Your Energy Needs Cleansing (And What to Do About It) — Part 2

In Part 1, we looked at the physical and circumstantial signs that your energy needs cleansing — the fatigue, the stagnation, the bad luck, the scattered feeling. If you haven't read that one yet, start there.

In Part 2, we're going deeper. Because sometimes the signs aren't just in your body or your circumstances. Sometimes they show up in your emotional world, your mental patterns, and your spiritual connection — and that's where things get really interesting.

More Signs Your Energy Needs Cleansing

You're Feeling Emotionally Heavy or Experiencing Mood Swings

Not just a bad day — but a persistent heaviness that sits on your chest. Emotions that feel disproportionate to what's happening around you. Irritability, sadness, or numbness that you can't quite explain.

This is often your body's way of signalling that something needs to move. Emotion is energy in motion — and when it gets stuck, it makes itself known.

You're Struggling to Focus, Pray, Meditate, or Connect With Your Intuition

You sit down to meditate and your mind won't settle. You try to pray and the words feel hollow. You reach for your intuition and find static. That quiet inner knowing that usually guides you has gone quiet.

This disconnection is a sign. When we're carrying energetic congestion, it creates interference — like trying to tune into a radio station through heavy static.

You Feel Like You're Carrying Something That Isn't Yours

This one is subtle but unmistakable once you've felt it. A heaviness, a mood, an anxiety that doesn't quite feel like you. Your body knows the difference — and it's naturally trying to reject what doesn't belong.

We absorb energy from the places we go and the people we spend time with — more than most of us realise. Sometimes what we're carrying isn't even ours to carry.

You've Lost Your Motivation, Creativity, or Joy

The things that used to light you up feel flat. You can't access your creativity. Getting started on anything feels like wading through mud.

This is often a sign that something is in the way — something that needs to be released before the flow can return. That something might be:

  • Mental — an outdated belief that no longer serves who you're becoming
  • Emotional — suppressed feelings like grief, trauma, pain, or heartache that haven't been fully processed
  • Spiritual — a version of yourself you've outgrown, but haven't yet given yourself permission to release

All of these are invitations to surrender. To let go of the thoughts, the feelings, and even the versions of yourself that are ready to be composted — so that something new can grow. This is evolution. And it's not always comfortable. But it is always worth it.

The One Thing I Cannot Go Without: Salt

If you want to take your energy cleansing to the next level, there is one thing I reach for every single time — and that is salt.

Epsom. Himalayan. Celtic. All of them.

On one end of the spectrum, salt is deeply restorative on a physical level — it helps your body replenish minerals, ease muscle tension, and regulate your nervous system. On the other end, salt has been used for centuries across cultures and traditions to banish, repel, and cleanse negative energy. It sits beautifully at the intersection of the practical and the spiritual — which is exactly where I like to work.

Here's how I use it:

  • As a body scrub — literally washing heavy energy off your body, with the intention of releasing what you've been carrying (The High Priestess & Circles of Salt)
  • In a bath — a full soak, physically and spiritually cleansing at the same time. Add herbs, oils, or one of our herbal bath infusions to amplify the ritual (Check out our range of infusions)
  • In your space — placed in corners, used in floor washes, or as part of a cleansing ritual for your home

Working With the Moon: New Moon & Full Moon Cleansing

If you want to work with natural energetic rhythms, align your cleansing rituals with the moon cycle. Both the New Moon and the Full Moon offer powerful windows for this work — though they carry different energies, and some moons are more potent than others. Do your research, feel into what each one is calling for, and let that guide you.

Work within a three-day window around whichever moon you're working with: the day before, the day of, and the day after.

A few things to always remember:

  • Open and close your ritual — set a clear intention at the start and consciously seal it at the end. This matters more than most people realise.
  • Ride the wave — let the ritual take you where it needs to go. Whether that's a herbal bath soak, candle magic, a spell jar, or simply sitting in stillness with your intention — trust what calls to you.
  • Stand firm in your decision to seal it — once you've set the intention to release something, honour it. Don't invite it back in through your thoughts, your habits, or your choices.

And here's the part that often gets overlooked: you have to collect what you put down. Only this time, renewed.

Releasing is only half of the practice. Once you've cleared the old, you must consciously call back your energy — restored, reclaimed, and realigned. You are not emptying yourself. You are making room for a better version of what was always yours.

The ritual is the beginning. The commitment is what makes it real.

You Are Always in the Process of Becoming

Cleansing your energy isn't a one-time event. It's an ongoing practice of returning to yourself — of releasing what's accumulated, what's been absorbed, what's been outgrown — so that you can keep moving forward as the most aligned version of you.

Part 3 is coming. We'll go even deeper into building a cleansing practice that's sustainable, personalised, and genuinely transformative.

Until then — grab the salt. Draw the bath. Collect yourself, renewed.
